Genes and Environment
The aging process depends not only on the genes we have “inherited” from our parents but also on the environment in which we live.
There are “good”, protective genes. Surely, we don’t know them all, but we can mention, in particular, those that control:
- The production of oxygen-containing radicals, which contribute to the aging of the skin.
- The metabolism of fat, especially that of sugar, through a hormone which is both essential to life and extremely harmful, and is produced in excess.
The influence of our environment is essentially the result of our physical and intellectual activity, and of our nutritional input. People who have “good” genes and lead a healthy life are very likely to live actively and independently for a long time. Our “youth capital” can be dilapidated through a bad environment. Conversely, we can improve our “health capital” by acting upon the environment.
Nutrition
You can’t change your genes but you can change the way you live!
You need to control your weight, decrease or stop your consumption of toxic substances (alcohol, tobacco…), but also make sure you have an adequate, or even excessive, supply of antioxidants, vitamins, trace elements and other micronutrients…

Hormones
They control the activity of genes but their production declines during the aging process, especially the growth hormone but also the steroid hormones (oestrogens, testosterone, DHEA). This production can be acted upon by regular physical and intellectual activity, relaxation, nutritional hygiene and/or by substituting for their deficiency.
Assessment and Treatment
The initial, clinical and biological assessment, covers the nature of your genes, your nutritional status, and your hormone production.
It can be used to implement an appropriate, personalized treatment.
Later assessments will serve to check the effectiveness of the approach.
The purpose is to preserve the quality of life without affecting longevity.
The treatment combines counseling in hygiene and diet with the correction of hormone deficiencies.
Each medication has been granted full market approval.
Anti-Aging medicine is a medicine of current issue in a time when our society is aging, which is a source of morbidity and health costs.
Its preventive, personalized approach provides the best chances for effectiveness.
